mature Male NG
3 January 2011 11 A.M. Kolb Road And Broadway
1 mature male NG - Pigeons circling about at 100 feet elevation ; with them was a male NG, and then by itself. This sighting was a drive-under as the NG was circling, and flapping with very deep, very rapid, and very flexible wing beats. The chest and belly showed that the hawk was mature. The sighting was naked eye, and the chest and belly also showed reddish. Now if this belly and chest was a buffy -red, naked eye, what would the intensity of the red become if the hawk were viewed with binos! Answer - a stronger red!
